Organic Dried Fruit/Nuts/Seeds/Flours

As many of you know, we supplement out produce range with some organic dried fruit, nuts, seeds, oils and sometimes flours.

Some of these items, like coconut sugar and pepitas have been selling out fast lately! We’re looking at ordering in more organic pantry items like these soon and we’re open to suggestions. What would you like to see in our web store?

It’s been a while since we’ve had dried fruit, so I’m considering giving organic figs a go. The wholesaler we deal with has a huge variety and if there’s something you’d like to be able to buy through us (and we keep the prices as reasonable as we can), then leave a comment or contact us and let us know your suggestions.

I’d definitely purchase some organic/chemical free flour. I’m after rye at the moment for sourdough, but I’ll use anything really. I love buying a bit of coconut/organic sugar because we do a lot of baking from scratch and I don’t like using too much processed sugar. If you can get Bragg’s Liquid Aminos and ACV, I’d buy that, too. I don’t mind paying a couple of dollars extra per bottle for the convenience of getting it from you.
I can’t really afford dried fruit at normal health food store prices. I purchase dried apricots and dried dates and we use them a LOT. If you can get/dry the apricots for around $6 for 500g then I’d be stoked to get them from you and I’d be happy to pay up to $5 for 500g for dried dates – however, I understand if it’s not viable! Same goes with honey. Happy to pay extra for honey that’s better quality, so if you can source some, I’d happily get it from you.

    • Hi Julie 🙂
Thanks for your input. Regarding Braggs and ACV, I’d check out Pantry Earth online. We’ve ordered bulk ACV from there before, along with other organic products. They have an excellent range and prices, BUT just be aware they never seem to be in any hurry to ship your order. It’s often a week before they’ve even sent it…then maybe another week before you get it! So no good if you’re in a hurry, but great for variety/prices if you can wait.

Sugar…the organic sugar at Woolworths is pretty competitively priced. I looked at getting bulk organic raw sugar, but it didn’t work out any better than buying it from the supermarket.

Flour I’ll talk to you about when I next see you. If you’re open to buying 20kg bags of it, I can point you in the right direction.

I would love to see – or keep seeing! pepitas, sunflower seeds, cacao, dates, shredded coconut, GF oats, buckwheat flour, almonds and Brazil nuts… coconut oil.

Looking forward to coming out sometime soon.
